Colour Symphony 1
A solid unique, handmade glass wedge featuring a distortion of a handmade glass pattern bar. Pattern bars are unique bars of glass made from laying down coloured small pieces of glass in layers. They are melted together in the kiln to form a slab or bar and then sliced to reveal the intricate patterns within. The slices have been set up at an angle in the kiln and melted at high temperature to enable the glass to flow and distort the pattern.
The resulting wedge of glass is trimmed and coldworked for several hours to a produce a glossy, shiny piece of one-off glass art that is finished to gallery standards.
