Introduction to Glass Fusing – Full day
An introduction to the wonderful world of glass fusing. Learn to cut glass with confidence and design your own coasters or wall tiles. We will then choose a two other projects to make based on your new found cutting skills and creativity! We will load up the kiln at the end of the session ready for me to fire for you. Your pieces will be available for collection or delivery locally within a few days.
This is a one-to-one session so you will have my undivided attention throughout.
Level: Suitable for complete beginners or returning artists
Course Contents:
- Glass cutting
- Introduction to glass – types and properties
- Make 4 coasters or wall tiles
- Make an item such as suncatcher, simple panel, or some jewellery
- Make one further item such as a bowl or dish
Included:
- All materials and use of tools. All kiln firings.
- Tea/Coffee
Availability: Classes can run on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 10am – 5pm. Contact me for your preferred date.
Essential Info
- Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron.
- The course times are 10am – 5pm. There will be a 45-minute lunch break. Lunch is by your own arrangement. I recommend bringing a packed lunch but there is also a local Sainsburys, several pubs, a deli and cafes locally.
- On booking you will receive a booking confirmation email. I will have a record of this too and you do not need to bring a copy with you.
- Courses take place in my studio located in South Marston, near Swindon, Wiltshire.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend a course you have booked, please let me know as soon as possible. If you give at least 4 weeks’ notice you are eligible for a full refund or a transfer to an alternative date. If you give between 2 and 4 weeks’ notice you are eligible for a 50% refund or a transfer to an alternative date. If you give less than two weeks’ notice you are not eligible for any refund, but where possible I will endeavour to offer an alternative date. No refunds or alternative dates can be offered if you don’t contact me before the course is due to take place. I reserve the right to postpone a session due to unavoidable circumstances such as illness with as much notice as possible. In the event that I am unable to deliver the course in full or in part you will receive a refund or you can choose an alternative date.
